Job Information

Does my pup have to have a job? No. Not at all. There is money on the island, but anything you need will be provided. Luxuries, however, must be bought, either with money or something of the pup's. These deals can extend past personal possessions, so be wary! A pair of fancy shoes might cost you the color of your hair, or the sound of your laughter.

So my pup can have any job they want? Yes. While not every job will be busy, there's bound to be a use for everything and everyone. But. . .

There's already a bar, can I have one anyway? No. We will, for the moment, only allow one of each business type. Unless you can make a very strong case for your business, or it's a combination of a previous business and something else (My bar's a gay/singles bar, or it's a nightclub), we will instead assign you to the employ of the first business (you'd be a bartender or a bouncer).

What about supplies for my business? The Island anticipates all the supplies you will need and provides them. A baker won't get an endless supply of rotisseries, they will get every single baking implement known to man. The ones that are used least will disappear in time.

Is there anything I should/can do with my pup's business? Yes! We encourage businesses to make entry posts as often as pups do. If you're a stocker for the local shoe store, write about your pup's exciting shift when they had to find all those boots for the pirates. This allows other characters to 'frequent' your store.

If I don't work for a store can I make a post for it? Yes, but you may not get the shop owner or any employee of the shop to reply to your post if you don't contact them OOCly. There's never going to be a rule that shop workers reply to every post made in their particular shop.

Nobody wants to work in my coffee shop If you need more staff than you have in player characters, you can always employ NPCs. For all it's glorious splendor, the Island is a busy place, full of people from all times.
